Victor Kuwahara

Dr. Victor S. Kuwahara is a full Professor in the Faculty of Education and Graduate School of Science & Engineering, Soka University, Japan. He was a Visiting Researcher at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology, University of Hawaii, Manoa, and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He currently collaborates in joint research projects with multiple domestic (Japan) and international (USA, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Ethiopia) universities and research institutes (NASA, JAXA, JAMSTEC, NPEC) specializing in biological and optical oceanography. Active projects include coastal-open ocean ecology, eutrophication and climate change; invasive species mapping in lakes; hitchhiking HABs on marine plastic debris and blue-meadow mapping and ecology.
