Dr. Vibhas Sukhwani is a Policy Researcher at Japan’s Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES). A Civil Engineer/Urban Planner from a background, he holds a PhD in Media and Governance from Keio University, Japan. With interdisciplinary research expertise, he applies various qualitative and quantitative research tools to research urban, rural and regional planning, water-energy-food nexus, and circulating and ecological sphere. Working with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, he has continually engaged in research and consultancy projects. He has authored over 35 research publications, including several peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters of international repute, and reports. He was also a contributing author in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report (Chapter 10: Asia) 2022.
