Nir Krakauer

Associate Professor, The City University of New York

Dr. Nir Krakauer is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at the City College of New York. He earned his doctorate in Geochemistry from the California Institute of Technology and completed a prestigious NOAA Climate and Global Change Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley.

Dr. Krakauer has extensive experience leading and publishing research on climate change and its impacts on streamflow, agriculture, biodiversity, and health, both within the United States and globally. His work focuses on advancing tools and methodologies for assessing climate risks and improving prediction accuracy. A dedicated mentor and educator, Dr. Krakauer is committed to guiding students and young professionals, as well as designing and teaching courses and training modules on data analysis, statistics, and their applications in climate science and sustainability.
