Dr. Masami Tsuijita, originally from Osaka, Japan, is an Associate Professor of Development Studies at the National University of Samoa, where she has served since 2017. Her research interests center on the international, transnational, regional, and local movements of people in the pursuit of a better life. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, with a focus on Development Studies and Cultural Geography, as well as a Master’s in Pacific Islands Studies from the same institution.
