Dr Malancha Dey is a dedicated environmental scientist with a robust background in environmental research, currently serving as a Senior Scientist at the South Asian Forum for Environment (SAFE) and Director at the Progyan Foundation for Research & Innovation (PFRI). She earned her PhD in Environmental Science from Jadavpur University, a Master of Philosophy in the same field and a Master of Zoology from the University of Calcutta. With over 12 years of experience in project development, implementation, and management, Dr Dey has held roles across prominent organizations, including serving as a Project Scientist at India’s National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management and as a Research Consultant for institutions such as the World Bank Group and the International Water Association. Her research spans climate-resilient agriculture, ecosystem restoration, and carbon sequestration, focusing on climate adaptation strategies through nature-based solutions. Widely published, Dr. Dey’s work has contributed to advancements in sustainable environmental practices and has fostered inclusive approaches to natural resource management and biodiversity conservation.
