Eseta Drova

The University of the South Pacific

Eseta Drova is an Indigenous Fijian Scholar, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Food Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Marine Science and is currently completing her master’s research project titled: Utilizing TEK to better understand freshwater eels in Fiji for the potential of aquaculture.  She is deeply committed to integrating traditional ecological knowledge into research initiatives. She believes that combining traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) with scientific methodologies provides a more holistic and culturally sensitive approach to addressing local challenges. She is passionate about empowering communities to translate research findings into practical improvements in their livelihoods and practices.
