Devaneyan Arasu is the founder-Director of Thozhamai (meaning solidarity), a CSO. He is a state-level office bearer of various coalitions, networks and campaigns in Tamil Nadu.  He is a recipient of the following awards: Best Protector of the Rights of Children and Women by December 3 Movement; Unsung Champion Award from Daksin Chennai Prabasi Cultural Association for his work during 2015 Chennai Floods; Child Rights Defender Award from Sakthi Vidiyal; Justice Shivaraj Patel award for best “Human Rights Defender – Service to Humanity”; and Guardian of Children Award from Anandha Vikatan. He has been serving in various Committees the Government of Tamil Nadu formed.
