Dr Stammer is Chair of the WCRP and co-chair of the WCRP Open Science Conference. He is now Professor, Head of Remote Sensing and Assimilation and Director of the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability at the University of Hamburg, Germany. Detlef’s research interests include the role of the ocean in climate variability and sea level change.
As well as his current positions at the University of Hamburg he has been a Director and Professor at Scripps and a Principal Research Scientist at MIT. He has received several awards during his career.
