Vatthanamixay CHANSOMPHOU is a lecturer and researcher of development and environmental economics at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, National University of Laos. He has extensive research and research management experience across a number of fields, ranging from pure academic to policy supporting research, including economic analysis and modelling, dynamic optimization and waste management, modeling of sustainable resource use, climate change models, and the impacts of economic development on the environment. He is also skillful in statistics, econometric analysis (i.e. time series analysis, panel data analysis, and categorical data analysis), general equilibrium analysis, and mathematical modeling. His recent work has been concerned with solid waste management, environmental impact assessment (EIA), economic valuation of natural resources, payment for environmental services, and climate change and adaptation.
