Professor Peter Harrison is a coral ecologist and the founding Director of the Marine Ecology Research Centre at Southern Cross University (SCU). He is also the first recipient of the title of Distinguished Professor at SCU. Professor Harrison has more than 40 years’ experience researching and teaching marine science and ecology programs. He has achieved international standing as a leader in coral reproduction ecology and coral larval restoration. Professor Harrison has been awarded more than $19 million in marine research grants and has led highly successful national and international research projects. His current research focuses on larger-scale coral and reef restoration.
