A recognized watershed management and climate change expert, with Ph.D. in Watershed Management and a Professor Emeritus at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR). An Academician at the National Academy of Science and Technology Philippines, People Survival Fund Board member and National Innovation Council executive member. Former UPLB Chancellor, CFNR Dean and Director of the Forestry Development Center. An author of the Second, Third and Fourth UN IPCC Assessment Reports, and former member of the National Panel of Technical Experts of the Philippine Climate Change Commission.
