Early career professionals from Indonesia showcase innovative global change research at the 10th APN Early Career Professional Poster and Networking session

The 10th APN Early Career Professional (ECP) Poster and Networking Session was held alongside the APN 26th Joint Intergovernmental and Scientific Planning Group Meeting on 13 June 2024 at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) in Jakarta, Indonesia. During the event, ECPs showcased innovative global change research on the thematic area of “Climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction”.

Dr Linda Stevenson, Acting Director of the APN Secretariat, opened the session with a warm welcome and emphasised the session’s importance in fostering learning, networking and future collaboration. She encouraged participants to actively engage, ask questions, and make the most of the opportunity to connect with peers and mentors.

Dr Stevenson formally opened the poster and networking session

The session brought together 11 ECPs, who presented their research on integrating climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction into spatial planning, the impact of climate change on agriculture, nature-based solutions for climate resilience, and coastal and marine environmental management, among others.

APN members and event attendees had the chance to explore the posters, engage in in-depth discussions with the ECPs and provide valuable feedback. This interactive session not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also helped build a supportive community of ECPs.
