Dr. Jonson Lumban-Gaol is a professor and former Head of the Marine Technology Graduate Program at IPB University, Indonesia. He has a strong background in marine remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with over 35 years of research experience. He also has 25 years of experience collaborating on international joint projects with organizations such as Conservation International (CI), the Asia Pacific Network for Global Research (APN), the Ministry of the Environment in Japan, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), and the University of British Columbia, Canada.
